All Rise

I was impatient to discover more of All Rise’s music but still I waited to able to focus good on it for the first listening for in the end feeling….nothing. But usually when I guess why it doesn’t make me react, here I couldn’t say what I found not good so I chose to take distance

Is it the distance taken, a necessity to hear it more than once or just that I was less focused, I don’t know but when listening to the EP again, I began to hear what I didn’t first. It wasn’t just songs I could find good or bad anymore but it became some who made me feel things. My first advice will then be to listen to it more than once, to just let the songs come

“Hammered” is the first EP of the band and it opens with the song « Hunter » for which the band have done a video clip. In the beginning, it was my favorite song, it still stays one of my favorite of their songs. It is a good choice as single. I think that what I prefer in a song is that you have a modulation in vocals who so good can make us imagine the changing in feelings or so and also the good middle between instruments.

“Sign of the Times” comes after. I learn to like that song more but it still isn’t one I would listen to again and again. I have the impression it is a bit too straight except at some moments. Maybe that I would had prefer that song if it was more acoustic, more like « I will take my time » but here it's totally a question of taste, so go listen and see by yourself

The next song is the song for which I really was right to listen to it again as in the beginning, I was there « yeah ok » but after gosh....that song is fucking catchy. When I’m alone, I can’t do without singing along with dancing and all. The kind of song that you don't need a lot of time for recognizing too. It became my favorite of the EP. When a song makes you feel something, it's definitely a good song. It’s a sentence that totally fits “Stream of Emptiness”

Even after some listening I still can’t decide if I like the vocals of the last song or not but it somewhere gives me an impression like it would be someone who's desperate and try to shriek it so that others hear it. But behind that, you have the normal voice, what people really hear. Yeah it makes me think on that...that people don't (want to) see the reality, don't want to listen to the despair, to the angriness. « Another Perfect Dream » but is the dream as perfect as you think...

If you like heavy metal, I definitely advice you to go listen to that EP and give it a chance. You can find it on iTunes and on Spotify, where you can also follow the band ;)

Some of you may have read my review about Burning Winter. Those people may then remember that I somewhere regretted to discover the band when it was too late. With still that question hanging...was it really too late ?

I also said that you could count on me for following what the future will bring for them and their future is........ALL RISE !

2 days ago I could finally hear the band that I was so unpatient to discover and my first impression is, that it's what I liked in Burning Winter but with being even better. That part is specially right :

They don't offer you music who will do a revolution in the heavy metal world but they play music with their hearts and it will give you an enjoying listening moment for not saying a musical orgasm and it's somewhere all that counts.

Vili Rantanen is still at guitars but this time with J. Caven and that duo seems to work pretty well. I personally found the guitars better here, all in nuance..sometimes fast, sometimes more slow but always nice to hear. On the bass we found Marko Niemi back and on the drums we found...Jari Kuokkanen, the drummer of Teräsbetoni and one of my own favorites. Oh yeah, it's still how I love the drums and it's so good to hear his drumming skills on some new songs.

Now let's discover the vocals, here led by Niko Rauhala. I didn't know him but his voice is interesting. You good understand what he sings with still having that metal way of singing. I think that it's the kind of musician that I will like discovering his work and follow in the future. In the vocals you will also hear some other voices as the only who don't do any is Jari (at same time drums and singing is really not that easy to do too). It's a good idea to do it so as it offers more possibilities and differents voices can fit different songs, gives different feelings.

Like you could guess, I found a band that I will have pleasure to follow and if you like heavy metal, I can only advice to listen to their music, If you live not that far of Tampere (sadly not my case at all), you can even have the chance to go to their very first show. It will be on the 5th of March at rock bar Bändäri. May there be many more following...
